Giving to Greenwood
Dig Greenwood’s Well
The Massachusetts DEP is requiring Greenwood to dig a new well. While our current wells are plentiful and safe, they are old. Without a new well, the MassDEP will not allow us to run the camp in 2026.
Greenwood’s property has been surveyed and an appropriate spot has been located in the Lower Field (this cannot be seen from the Greenwood wall). The digging is scheduled to begin after the close of Junior Camp 2025.
This is the kind of project whose results are neither audible, as in a new piano, nor visible, as in a new cabin. Our gratitude is therefore even greater than usual.
Thank you for your support!
“A well in the field
Brings water to our dear camp
Pricey - please donate”
Water Haiku
Water Music Poem
a single well costs 100,000
thus far we’ve raised 20,000
the time is nigh to add some zeros
every little bit given is heroic
and so now unlike most concert decorum
I beseech you take out turn on brighten
all your devices scan the code let’s go
this well won’t dig itself it needs the gusto
of this community for in these times
there is little that matters more than to find
—I’ll say it again—community—to carry
on the spirit of this ancient unwieldy
location for another 93
years of music making I entreat
you, quench the thirst please consider a donation
we thank you for your contribution!
